Happy New Year!

A Message from the Owners-THANK YOU PARENTS!  With your generosity our raffle was a great success and we were able to raise $691.1 for SHELTER MOVERS.  These monies will help families escape domestic violence by helping to safely relocate them. The TODDLER 1 ROOM was given a fresh coat of paint over the holidays by our director Mrs Kayla’s dad Gord Gunn and is ready to open again!  Thank you Gord!Thank you for the appreciation you have shown to our amazing staff this holiday season! They work tirelessly, and even though the Benjamins know it is well deserved, your generosity overwhelms them!!

Infants-Hope you all had a great holiday!  Everyone is adjusting well and making new friends. Infants enjoy playing and learning especially Sensory play with a variety of activities in our sensory bin (ripping paper, bubble wrap). Some of our friends have started standing on their feet and some have started walking. We will be doing some stretches/yoga and walking with the walker to help support and encourage them. We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Toddlers-Week 1: In this week we will practice learning our colours. We will be mixing different coloured paint together to make new colours (Art). The children will    be part of a fizzy shape experiment (Science & Sensory).Week 2: The theme for this week is Outdoor/Camping we will be playing with the pop up tents and tunnels (Social Studies & Self Help). We will play with flower sensory bags (Sensory bags) and the children will paint with stamps (Art).Week 3: This week’s theme is Snow and the children   will be making instant snow (Science & Sensory). They will be practicing putting on their mittens and taking them off (Fine Motor & Self Help).

Preschoolers-Welcome back!  We will be working on life skills this month.  The classroom provides the opportunity for the Preschoolers to acquire the skills to “do it myself”.  Some ways in which to help support this is to let them put on pants, shirts, even shoes & boots by themselves.  We will have centers to encourage this at daycare too.  Remember to slow down and support them. We will also include a health study by explaining to the children the importance of washing their hands and covering their mouths when coughing or sneezing. Stay tuned for show and tell, as we will be sending out a schedule for this year.To all the families – For this New Year may all your dreams turn into reality and all your efforts into great achievements.  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

Director-I will be away on my honeymoon from Friday Jan. 18 2019 and returning Monday January 28th 2019. Miss Taina will be replacing me during this time and will be returning any emails on my behalf.  Miss Caron is always on site as well.
