Tiny Squirts-Welcome to the Infant room! For the month of December we will be doing lots of Sensory bottle bags as they just love it and Christmas art – finger painting, stamping with cookie cutters and with sponges. They love blocks and stacking activities so we will be doing more of that this month as well as getting ready for Christmas by making special arts and crafts for our Mommies and Daddies!

Tiny Tots-Week 1: The theme for this week is Winter. We will be turning our dramatic play into an igloo. We will make winter in a bag (Science/Sensory), the children will play a snowflake matching game (Cognitive).Week 2: In this week we will be making a paper plate snowman (Art), we will be sorting buttons (Cognitive) and the children will be popping bubble wrap (Fine Motor).Week 3: Restaurant/food will be the theme for this week. The children will be learning about fruits and vegetables (Social studies and Self Help), they will be playing food hop (Gross Motor) and they will be painting the snow (Art/Outdoor Play). We will also be working on the Christmas gifts.Week 4: For this week we will be learning about winter animals. We will make a polar bear (Art), we will feel the fur of winter animal -pompoms (Sensory Bin) and we will be playing with the winter animals in the snow (Gross Motor/Outdoor Play).

Tiny Tykes 1& 2-We will be spending a lot of time on the Christmas season this month.  There will be special crafts and games to get the children working on both their Fine and Gross motor. We will learn new Christmas poems, songs and we have a few new felt stories that we are excited to share with the children. December is a month of celebration and giving. We will be talking about families and children in need, the importance of sharing, giving and kindness.  Part of the Curriculum is teaching/educating about Social Responsibility and Diversity and to share with the children the real meaning of Christmas, to give of one’s very self, to think of and bring happiness, joy and love to others. We wish each of you a Christmas filled with blessing, love and joy.                                                             Remember we go outside every day, it’s stressful for both teachers and children to be constantly searching for extra outwear during those forgetful days. Thank you for your understanding.
