Our Tiny Tykes have shown huge interest in bugs now that the weather is getting warmer, and all of our little big friends are coming out to play! Have you ever thought about why learning about insects is such an important part of a child’s development? Learning about insects helps children to understand and truly build an appreciation for nature. Sure, bees can frighten people sometimes, but when children learn about bees and how they help our world work, this shows them just how important insects are to us! Activities like this also encourage children to spend more time outdoors exploring and looking for all of the wonderful living things that help our world! Our children are really enjoying learning about the different roles some of these insects have in our world as they ask many open-ended questions during these activities. Getting children used to insects at a young age encourages them to be more adventurous with the world around them and opens their eyes to the beauty of nature. Our educators have set up some wonderful loose parts activities that completely fosters our children’s natural curiosity and exuberance in the world of nature.
