The children are exploring different objects to use to paint while also working on their fine motor skills. This activity teaches a variety of skills and allows children to express themselves through their art! A typical paintbrush is wonderful for coordination, but what happens when you take an ordinary object like a toy wrench and use that to paint? The children are learning that different things can be used beyond their actual purpose! They are really working on their fine motor and hand eye coordination skills as they must use the wrench to pick up the pompom, dip it into the paint and bring it to the paper.
