How imaginative play helps develop children’s skills

January 17, 2022

Play is essential to a child’s development because it contributes to their cognitive, physical, social and emotional well being. While engaging in imaginative play, children are learning about themselves and the world around them, enhancing their knowledge and skills. Here we see our toddlers engaging in imaginative play with our play kitchen area. The children are imitating common situations they are familiar with, such as watching mom and dad cook at home! Healthy food choices are promoted here with the type of play food offered and basic cooking concepts are being taught also! There is a whole world of learning activities that can start with a play kitchen!
