Tiny Worlds for Tiny Hands

At Tiny Hoppers Lisgar, we use Tuff trays everyday to set up various activities that enhance the children’s current interests.
Tuff trays are excellent props for educators to create beautiful provocations that allow for many skills to develop during play.
As the children stand side by side exploring the materials, they are working on their spatial awareness of their own bodies in context to others around them. They are practicing new emerging skills of sharing materials.  They are learning more about their world as this activity reflects the animals in various habitats.  As the educators narrate the children’s play, they are being exposed to new vocabulary. Fine motor control is also being strengthened as the children grasp, hold and release the different materials.
There are so many wonderful uses for tuff trays but any flat container or tray with a low edge can be used to set up little worlds for exploration!
