Mud. The first thought that may come into mind with mud is messy, smelly, and dirty but to a child this means play.
The learning benefits of a mud kitchen are endless… it allows for children to explore their creativity, imagination and exploration. Children are
able to get messy, and have fun while learning about the importance of sharing with others, reenacting home scenarios, and problem solving.
Due to the fact that our awesome mud kitchen is weather proof our children are able to enjoy and explore its components all year long! At our centre we have noticed
that the children have developed a sense of role play as well as sensory stimuli by pouring the “hot tea in the cup” or “stirring the soup.” The learning opportunities are endless with a mud kitchen and I would highly
recommend building one from scrap materials to engage your child in being able to play freely.
