This month in the toddler room one activity we did to help them explore and develop different skills is a shamrock rice craft—where toddlers decorate a shamrock shape using the materials such as spoon, glue, brushes and coloured rice—this activity offers several developmental benefits. First, it helps strengthen fine motor skills as children pinch, pick up, scoop and place small grains of rice, improving finger control needed for writing later. It also encourages hand-eye coordination as toddlers focus on placing the rice within the shamrock outline. Additionally, it promotes creativity and self-expression as toddlers choose how much rice to add or how to decorate their shamrock.
