The newest trend in Early Childhood education is bringing more natural products and materials into the indoor and outdoor play spaces. We are moving towards more natural play spaces. Our lesson plans contain many activities that require the teachers to collect, gather and use natural materials in their classrooms. In order to really meet the standards that the ministry would like to see. We encourage in our teachers and directors to make their classrooms and outdoor play spaces an on-going project. So you may say in our classroom plants, baskets, rocks, shells, sticks, pinecones and natural items. In the play yard you may find stumps, logs, stones and natural items for the children to explore.
In our 3-5 room we have an area set aside for Science and Technology. We offer the children opportunities to explore. These items are often changed and new items are introduced.
