February is a busy month for everyone! There are so many important and historic moments and memories in the month of February, one of them of course being Valentines Day!
We have been feeling the love all month long here at Tiny Hoppers Kanata North! Take a look at some of these amazing, emergent and fun activities our educators have set out for our children, solely focused on Valentines Day.
Our children delved into fun fine motor activities like practicing their scissor skills by cutting paper, threading yarn through hearts, working on their pincer grasps using tweezers to explore lovely tuff tray sensory bins, and working hard using their tiny fingers to peel stickers off to decorate their valentine bags!
They engaged in cognitive activities like Math, Science and Literacy as they counted blocks in heart shapes as well as counting with rose petals, using droppers to watch color expand in water on hearts, and matching the alphabet on cut out hearts.
They even participated in gross motor activities geared towards Valentines, and even a karaoke party!
We love our children here at Kanata North so much, and we understand the importance of creating a loving, safe and responsive environment for our children to thrive in. Creating a sense of belonging and togetherness is such a huge part of Valentines Day! Our children were able to freely decorate their own valentines bags that they would use to share valentines with their friends. The children had a great time going around in circle sharing all of the love!
