At Tiny Hoppers Kanata North, we are a very diverse group of individuals and we love to celebrate our differences! Teaching our children about different celebrations from different cultures raises their awareness and acceptance of what, how, and why other people celebrate things, and why these celebrations are so important. Lunar new year celebrations are all about removing the bad and the old, and welcoming the new and the good, as well as recognizing and honoring the importance of family. As 2024 is here now, we openly welcome only and all good things to come to our families and members!
Our children participated in traditional activities like making lanterns, dragons, and paper fans to hang as decoration around our center. While learning all about this culture and celebration, little do the children know that they are also working on skills in every domain! From fine motor, to cognitive, to gross motor with a dragon dance! We are truly enjoying learning all about the Lunar New Year.
From all of us at Tiny Hoppers Kanata North – xin nian hao!
