Our toddlers show great interest in jobs, and absolutely love when they get the chance to have their own jobs here at our center! Our educators set up a lemonade stand for them. They had the opportunity to sell lemonade to their peers, as well as be customers! Allowing our children to take the lead in their play gives them a sense of accomplishment, engagement and belonging. They practiced their math and counting skills while taking money from customers, as well as giving change back. They worked on their fine motor skills as they “poured” lemonade into cups. They also worked on patience as they lined up together happily waiting for their turn to be served! Our incredible educators took this learning experience one step further and expanded the learning into a real sensory activity! Our toddlers were able to taste test lemons, limes, and oranges. The reactions were priceless!
