At Tiny Hoppers Kanata North - We Remember

November 14, 2022

Last week was a very special day, Remembrance Day! Our entire center was happy to show our support through our daily activities, poppy stickers, and enjoying a moment of silence to reflect on this very important day.

While our littles are still quite small to fully understand, we can do our best to teach them about Remembrance Day in ways that they will understand. Our educators taught the importance of the poppy flower through art and sensory activities. Our teachers planned open ended activities where our littles made medals, hats, and poppies. Our educators spoke about the importance of the poppy flower with our preschoolers, while our toddlers enjoyed sensory trays with poppies in them, and beans used to make a poppy.

Every year there is a large ceremony outside the center at the memorial site. Our children and educators were lucky to be able to watch and show our support through our big windows.
