Nature Suncatchers!

September 19, 2022

Our children absolutely love nature, and anything DIY! We have observed that they love to get their hands dirty, and anything they can create on their own! Having something they can bring home to show their parents is also something we have noticed they love! So our educators thought what better way to enjoy nature and have something to bring home and look at daily, then to create our own suncatchers!

Our children even helped go outside and collect all sorts of leaves, twigs, flower’s, anything they could find that interested them enough to incorporate in their art!

The children had to manipulate sticky paper and learned all about cause and effect while placing their items onto the sticky paper. They learned that they needed to be careful about where they were placing these items as the paper was so sticky! Using the natural environment as a third teachers allows children to see how much we can use our outdoor world to enhance our learning. This is also a great fine motor activity as kids improve pinch, precision, and hand eye coordination.
