Celebrating our different cultural backgrounds gives children a sense of who they are. The unique cultural influences children respond to from birth, including beliefs around food, artistic expression such as music, language and religion, affects the way they develop emotionally, socially, physically and linguistically. We love to help children learn about each other and how to celebrate each other’s individual uniqueness. Today at Kanata North we did just that by celebrating Cinco de Mayo! Our children celebrated this culture with traditional music during circle time, many colorful activities as well as a fun gross motor piñata activity!
Our educators main goal is to ensure all of our children feel like they have a sense of belonging in an inclusive environment that helps them learn how important it is to celebrate our individuality!
