Learning how to recognize and sort colours can be super fun! For this activity, we gathered some empty paper towel rolls and cropped them so they were slightly shorter than a popsicle stick. We covered them with different coloured construction paper and programmed them with the colour words. The tubes were then glue gunned together to make a centre that will stand on it’s own. We placed the centre on a tray and placed out a basket of popsicle sticks that we painted a variety of colours. Children took turns sorting the popsicle sticks into the matching coloured tube!
