This was a great activity set up by one of the educators and each day during that week she was able to add more items/materials to the play. This activity was based off of an observation done on “I Spy” which is a POPULAR book in our preschool class right now! This activity was super bright and colourful and had many options for the children to explore and expand! They were able to use the scoopers to practice their fine motor skills and put the letters inside the cups. They could look and find their own letters of their name and scoop those into the cup. They could ask the educators how to spell other friend’s names and scoop those letters as well. It was a very inviting activity because of all the colours and the educator than also added rainbows for more colour and fun! This was a great activity for our older children going into kindergarten next year to start seeking and recognizing the letters in their names.
