Our Tiny Tots are expanding their fine motor skills using pipe cleaners and threading in different shapes. This also provides us with an opportunity to talk about shapes and colours. They brought other toys from across the classroom to match the colours. The next day we drew some shapes on paper and put some wooden shapes with them. Some children were able to check the shapes. This was an excellent opportunity to enhance their eye-hand coordination and cognitive skills. We also work with our toddlers to start practicing sharing and turn-taking. Playdough is our all-time favourite. All our toddlers help make playdough and have their little containers that we replenish every couple of days. We use edible material to make our homemade playdough. Please check out some photos of what we do in our toddler room.
