One of the Infant Class’ favourite games is stacking cups. Our teachers usually set it up on the light table using coloured transparent cups for a nice glowy effect. Underneath, teacher put colour matching balls for an added challenge.
Our little friends stacked the cups on top of one another. At the same time, they try to keep the balls from rolling off the table while teachers encouraged them to put the correct colour ball underneath the right cup.
This activity helps the infants develop their fine motor skills using their hands to grasp and pic up objects of different shapes and sizes. It also gives them an opportunity to learn their basic colours when matching the balls to the cups.
