Our friends loved this fun hands-on activity that encouraged creativity, sensory exploration, and imaginative thinking! As they squeezed, swirled, painted, and experimented with different textures and colours, they were strengthening fine motor muscles and practicing coordination skills that support early writing development.
Through this open-ended art experience, the children also explored important early learning concepts such as cause and effect, colour mixing, and problem-solving. Outdoor art invites children to think creatively on a larger scale while allowing them the freedom to explore materials in their own unique way.
Activities like puffy paint help support language development as children describe what they see, feel, and create using new descriptive vocabulary. It also encourages social learning through sharing materials, collaborating with peers, and celebrating each other’s ideas and creations.
Most importantly, the children were able to learn through play! By building confidence, expressing themselves freely, and enjoying the process of creating together outside!
