New Beginnings, New Friends & Fall Fun
September is always an exciting month at Tiny Hoppers Newmarket South. As summer comes to an end and the first signs of fall begin to appear, our classrooms are filled with new beginnings, growing friendships and wonderful opportunities for learning through play.
For some children, September means returning to familiar classrooms and reconnecting with friends and educators. For others, it may be their very first experience in childcare. Our educators understand that every child adjusts at their own pace, and we work hard to create a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment where each child feels safe, supported and valued.
Settling Into Our Routines
One of our main focuses during September is helping children become comfortable with their classroom routines.
Predictable routines help children know what to expect throughout their day and can provide a sense of security and confidence. Through daily experiences such as morning greetings, circle time, meals, outdoor play, rest time and classroom activities, children gradually become more independent and comfortable in their surroundings.
Our educators are there every step of the way to offer encouragement, comfort and reassurance as children settle into their new routines.
Making New Friends
September is also a wonderful time for building friendships.
Through group activities, dramatic play, songs, stories and everyday classroom experiences, children have many opportunities to learn how to play alongside others, share materials, communicate their feelings and work together.
These early friendships help children develop important social-emotional skills such as empathy, cooperation, patience and confidence.
At Tiny Hoppers, we believe that feeling connected to educators and classmates creates a strong foundation for happy and meaningful learning experiences.
Learning Through Play
Play is at the heart of everything we do.
Throughout September, our toddler and preschool classrooms will explore a variety of hands-on learning experiences inspired by the children’s interests and the changing season.
Children may explore themes such as:
- All About Me
- My Family
- Feelings and Emotions
- Making Friends
- Classroom Routines
- Apples
- Colours and Shapes
- Fall Leaves
- Nature and Outdoor Exploration
- Songs, Stories and Creative Art
Whether children are building with blocks, painting a fall picture, exploring sensory materials, looking for leaves outside or listening to a favourite story, they are developing important skills while having fun.
Exploring the Changes of Fall
September gives us many opportunities to take our learning outdoors.
As the weather begins to change, children can observe leaves changing colour, feel cooler temperatures, collect natural materials and explore the sights and sounds of the season.
Outdoor experiences encourage curiosity, physical development and an appreciation for the natural world around us. A simple walk through the playground can lead to wonderful conversations, discoveries and questions.
Growing Together
Our goal at Tiny Hoppers Newmarket South is to provide an environment where children feel a sense of belonging, well-being, engagement and expression.
Every day brings new opportunities for children to discover what they can do, develop confidence, express their ideas and build meaningful relationships with others.
We are looking forward to a wonderful September filled with laughter, exploration, friendship and learning.
