How does playing with cloud dough / playdough benefit a child’s development?
Children are learning hand-eye coordination as they use their hands to shape the dough . Each different way children shape the dough —pushing, pulling, squashing, squeezing, rolling, chopping, cutting—builds fine motor development in a different way. Using playdough or cloud dough by themselves, with a friend, or siblings supports a child’s social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and enjoying being with other people. Playdough also encourages children’s language and literacy, science, and math skills—all at the same time!
