Childcare Worker & Early Childhood Educator APPRECIATION DAY
OCTOBER 24th 2024
On Thurs October 24th, we celebrate our teachers. Please take the time to say a few kind words and thank our teachers for the rewarding, hard work they do for all the children that our families entrust with us each day!
Words can go such a long way to feeling appreciated!
CHEF, CHERYL:
- We will be having our annual Thanksgiving lunch on Wednesday October 9th
- We will also have special treats October 31st for Halloween!
INFANTS:
For the month of October, we will be focusing on Halloween and Thanksgiving. We will prepare lots of fun Halloween activities and
make cute little turkey headbands for thanksgiving.
SPECIAL DAYS:
- Oct 4 – Smile Day (wear yellow)
- Oct 9 – Thanksgiving turkey lunch
- Oct 31 – Come dressed in orange
TODDLERS:
Fall is officially here! We are looking forward to many fun activities that incorporate fall, thanksgiving and Halloween! We will continue working on our colours, ABC’s and numbers as well as our fine motor and gross motor skills. Due to the cooler temperatures, remember to pack additional warm clothing for your child.

- Oct 4 – World Animal Day (bring a picture of your pet)
- Oct 9 – Thanksgiving turkey lunch
- Oct 31 – Come dressed in your Halloween costume or orange.
PRESCHOOL:
It’s pumpkin season! This month will be filled with activities including pumpkins, spiders and all things spooky. We will also be celebrating Thanksgiving Day.
In Preschool, we focus on independence, putting shoes on/off, dressing, cleaning up, etc. in preparation for kindergarten.
With winter on its way, we will encourage the children to work on their self-help skills, so they can be more prepared and confident to dress themselves independently in their winter clothing when the snow arrives. May we encourage you to continue reinforcing this independence at home.
