OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

CHEF, CHERYL:

We will celebrate Thanksgiving with our annual turkey lunch on Thurs Oct 7, 2021.  There will also be a special menu full of Halloween themed lunch and treats!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT:

Beginning each month in our newsletter, we will choose staff members to focus on & share some insight about them so that you can know your teachers just a little bit better!

This month it is Ms. Samar and Ms. Georgia. They are our amazing toddler teachers! They have been with us for two months. We are so lucky to have them on our team!  Their co-workers describe them as:

Ms. Samar – “Amazing, kind, reliable, positive, patient, gentle, tolerant, great with children, goes with the flow”.

Ms. Georgia – “Reliable, positive, kind, amazing, awesome with kids, active, helpful, cheerful, eager to learn, goes with the flow”.

INFANT:

October is going to all about fall. We will have a variety of art, sensory, gross motor activites to celebrate and learn about thanksgiving, colours and Halloween!

The weather is changing, please bring a jacket, toque and mittens for the chilly mornings.

TODDLER:

This month we welcome more toddlers!

What a fun month we will have doing activities on themes such as Thanksgiving, fall, the 5 senses and Halloween.

We will be making some bird feeders, fingerprint trees (fine motor skills), gross motor activities, using our 5 senses and plenty of Halloween crafts including decorating pumpkins!

With the colder weather approaching we remind you to all bring hats, jackets and mittens.

Special days:
Thursday October 7- wear brown or red
Friday October 15- wear yellow or orange
Wednesday October 20- pj day
Friday October 29- Halloween party, come dressed up!

PRESCHOOL:

The children have settled in well and are enjoying the routine, new activities, all the fun  fall songs & books and plenty of new faces.

The weather is changing so please bring a coat or sweater for the chilly mornings.

Fall brings lots of change outside that the children will explore. We will do some fun experiments and art with all the colourful leaves & pumpkins.

In October, we will introduce some new songs & poems to the children at circle. It’s going to get spooky & scary!!

We will celebrate thanksgiving with our annual lunch on Thursday October 7, 2021.

The children will learn about the delicious food we harvest in the fall and help make yummy cookies for the luncheon.
