Each day, our Chef Andy comes to Tiny Hoppers Richmond East ready to prepare three meals for over 100 students and staff. He creates healthy meal plans, considers what flavours and ingredients to introduce to the school, and tirelessly provides delicious, nutritional foods.
In the morning when Chef Andy delivers meals to the classrooms, the children excitedly greet him at the door. Chef Andy kindly offers a greeting and a warm smile, and children become excited for what he has prepared for them! Through this daily interaction, our children continue to learn about appreciating kind gestures from others.
In July, the school celebrated Chef Andy’s birthday! Before Chef Andy arrived in the morning, teachers set up the hallway with a birthday surprise of decorations made by the Tykes classes! A banner, cupcake art, fruit basket crafts, and additional decorations were hung around the hallway. Throughout the day, different classes visited Chef Andy in the kitchen to wish him a Happy Birthday and bring him a handmade gift made by the children.
We feel so fortunate to have Chef Andy in our school, and we celebrate him on his special day, and every day!
Thank you for all that you do, Chef Andy!
