We have been starting off the New Year with a lot of exploration of different winter animals. In our infant program, they have been crafting using different types of materials. Painting with blocks works on their fine motor skills, specifically their grasp. It also introduces them to painting with different items that would be seen as only one use – building. We try to make sure our materials can be used for many different experiences so that children are always seeing the potential of how to transfer items into other centres in new ways.
