Loose Parts Play

Notice how these children are engaging in loose parts play with each other.  They have taken a castle, some dinosaurs and some wooden circles and have made an imaginary play space for themselves.  This play shows great collaboration between the children, they are speaking and listening to each other to add everyone’s perspective  of the play.  They are using self regulation skills to allow everyone the space to play as well.  There was no staff direction to this play rather items made available for the children to use with their imagination to guide the play.
