Our JK1 class kicked off 2025 with a continuation of their alphabet knowledge. A lot of friends were very interested in thinking up of words that start with the letter “J”, one of them being “JELLYFISH”. As an extension to their phonics lesson, the teachers decided to make an art activity where they create their own jellyfish!
Using watercolours and a template of a jellyfish, our JK1 friends practiced their letter Js.
While doing so, they are also learning about colour theory as they mix different hues to make new ones. They are also practicing their pencil grips as they learn how to properly hold and control a small paintbrush.
