January 2025 brought a magical snowfall that transformed the outdoors into a winter wonderland—and our children couldn’t have been more excited! With cheeks rosy from the cold and mittens dusted in snow, they turned an ordinary snow day into a creative adventure filled with snow art and imaginative play centered around animal hibernation.
Bundled up in warm layers, the children spent hours outside crafting colorful snow art. Using spray bottles filled with water and food coloring, they painted the snow in bright patterns, turning white landscapes into vivid masterpieces. Some designed swirling trails and shapes that looked like a wintery rainbow had landed on the playground.
Inside, the excitement continued as we explored the fascinating world of animal hibernation. Through hands-on activities and playful reenactments, the children learned how animals like bears, hedgehogs, and frogs prepare for and survive the cold winter months. They built cozy dens out of snow, curled up like sleeping animals, and even acted out gathering food before “hibernation.”
These joyful activities not only sparked creativity and curiosity but also gave the children a deeper appreciation for nature and the changing seasons. It was a beautiful reminder that learning can happen anywhere—even on a snowy day full of laughter and imagination.
Here’s to more moments of wonder, play, and learning in 2025!
