Our toddler’s explored painting in a fun, hands-on way. They used a ziplock bag, paint, tape and heart-shaped paper. The table set up encouraged curiosity about colouring the paper inside the bag. This activity is wonderful for developing their fine motor skills, creativity and engaging their senses. Manipulating paint inside the bag encourages fine motor development, where toddlers practice pressing, squeezing, tapping and moving the paint to colour the paper, which strengthens hand muscles and coordination.
Additionally, painting in a bag allows toddlers to express their creativity without fear or making mistakes, and toddlers can explore colours, shapes and patterns, which fosters imagination.
Lastly this activity provides rich sensory stimulation where toddlers can feel the texture of the paint through the bag, explore colour mixing and observe changes. Overall, toddlers had so much fun with their friends as they helped one another to colour the paper inside the bag
