In the Tiny Hoppers Orleans, the Preschool 2 educators decided to take the activity outside to the yard to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. As the snow continues to melt, puddles have started to form, creating a wonderful opportunity for exploration and imaginative play.
The children were excited to play in the puddles under the warm sunshine. We added some sea animal toys to the water, and soon the children began imagining that the puddles were the ocean. They watched the animals “swim” in the brown water and created their own stories during play.
Some children used kitchen tools, such as frying pans, to scoop and carry water from the puddles. Others enjoyed jumping and splashing, laughing as the water moved around their boots. The children worked together, shared materials, and explored how water moves when they step, pour, and splash.
The children were actively involved in hands-on exploration, using their imagination and curiosity to learn about water, movement, and the changes that come with spring. Playing outside also supported their physical well-being as they moved, jumped, and balanced in the puddles.
Through this joyful spring activity, the children demonstrated creativity, cooperation, and a growing awareness of the natural environment around them. 🌱💧
