“Community Kindness Day”

In April, Tiny Hoppers Richmond East celebrated “Community Kindness Day” in our Squirts, Tots, and Tykes classes. The children spent the morning creating colourful, thoughtful posters with drawings, handprints, and messages of thanks. While some children made “kindness pasta” and “kindness cookies” when talking about their favourite Chef Andy as well as the local Food Truck, other classes learned more about fire firefighters and police officers through curriculum art activities and dramatic play.
Later in the morning, our classes took their posters to parade around the community, where they met our local custodian, as well as community gardeners. It was a wonderful opportunity for each age group to engage in kindness in a way that matched their stage of development. Seeing the children share smiles, wave, and say thank you was a lovely reminder of how acts of kindness can make a difference in our community. This special day helped build confidence, learning about our community, and build a sense of belonging. Community Kindness Day was not only an exciting event, but also a meaningful way to continue building empathy and kindness within our community!
