This month in the toddler room we’ve been focusing on developing their Colour recognition .One activity we did to help them with this was “Stick the ball on the wall” colour-matching activities offer several important developmental benefits for toddlers. These games help strengthen fine motor skills as children grasp, throw, or press balls onto a surface, improving hand-eye coordination and muscle control. At the same time, matching colours supports early cognitive development by teaching toddlers to recognize, sort, and categorize different colours, which are foundational skills for later learning in math and reading. The activity also encourages focus and attention, as children concentrate on choosing the correct colour and placing it accurately.Overall, this playful, hands-on activity combines movement and learning in a fun way that keeps young children engaged while building essential developmental skills.
