We had so much fun celebrating Lego Day, and it was wonderful to see the children so engaged and excited as they explored with Legos. Through hands-on play, the children strengthened their fine motor skills by picking up, connecting, threading, and building with small pieces. These activities help develop hand strength, coordination, and control, all while feeling like play rather than work.
Lego Day was also a rich sensory experience. The children explored different textures, colors, shapes, and sizes as they sorted, stacked, and manipulated the Legos and beads. Sensory play like this supports focus, problem-solving, and creativity, allowing children to experiment freely and express their ideas in their own unique ways.
Beyond motor and sensory development, the children experienced many other areas of learning through Lego play. They practiced early math skills such as counting, patterning, and number recognition, as well as language and social skills by sharing materials, collaborating, and talking about their creations. Lego Day reminded us that meaningful learning happens best when children are actively exploring, creating, and having fun together. 🧱✨
