Building, Creating, and Imagining with Playdough & Loose Parts
Our Senior Preschool children were invited to explore an open-ended Playdough and Loose Parts Invitation. The table was thoughtfully prepared with soft blue playdough, craft sticks, pipe cleaners, cotton swabs, gems, googly eyes, and translucent shapes. A simple question, “What can you make?”, encouraged children to take the lead in their learning, using their creativity and imagination to design unique creations.
Through this hands-on experience, children transformed the materials into imaginative characters, animals, structures, and inventions. As they rolled, squeezed, shaped, and connected materials, they engaged in meaningful problem-solving, storytelling, and collaborative conversations with their peers.
