The preschool room has been learning all about Lunar New year! The teachers put out so many different and amazing activities for the children to learn from. The children were able to use their creative skills to decorate different blessings made with Chinese characters. They also used their fine motor skills and their dramatic play skills to pretend to make meals and use chopsticks to pick up the “food”! Another fun activity was practicing writing Chinese characters and drawing with special brushes and water. They also enjoyed learning to play Chinese chess and using their language and literacy skills to read about Lunar New Year. Lastly they learned about the different Chinese zodiacs and the years they were born with the corresponding animals. The children had so much fun learning about Lunar New Year!
