This activity was placed out after a teacher had done some observations of the toddlers enjoying playing with the animals and gravitating towards them again. She decided to add some magnetic tiles to build and expand on the learning without just the basic animals and barns. The toddlers this morning were taking apart the tiles and making new towers with them, or they were making smaller squares as little “houses” for the animals. The toddlers are practicing their fine motor skills by taking the tiles apart, putting them back together and trying to stack them. They are practicing their colours or pattern making skills and helping each other build and show some of the younger friends how to use the tiles.
