One thing that children will always by fascinated by is BUGS! Big bugs, little bugs, slimy ones and cute ones, bugs are always a hit with children! Children see a tiny bug and the questions start to build in their minds. What is this? Why is it so small/ big? How is it moving, is it flying or walking? This time of year, all of the bugs come out of hiding to play! The children will spend their entire outside time exploring all the cracks and crevices in the yard for whatever bugs they can find! The conversations between the children during these interactions are gold! If you pay attention to the conversations, they are learning from each other, asking and answering questions, and sharing past experiences with bug catching that they’ve endured so far in their little lives!
Giving the children to freely explore their natural world fosters a creative environment where all children feel confident, capable and free to explore their curiosity! At Tiny Hoppers Kanata North, we are not afraid of bugs! We learn from bugs!
