As a Math lesson, our JK2 friends have been learning about the different 2D shapes. As a result, teachers created an activity in which they can create their own characters using various magnetic tiles.
The children would first try to match the corresponding shape with the outline they have chosen, while naming what shape they are using.
They are then free to create their own characters using the magnetic tiles.
This activity helps further develop their basic math skills by identifying simple 2D shapes. They also have an opportunity to continue learning colour theory by naming what colour tiles they are currently using.
