Happy New Year from all of us at Tiny Hoppers Newmarket South! January is always an exciting time in our centre as we welcome back familiar faces, greet new families, and ease into a fresh year of learning, growth, and fun.
Settling In After the Holidays
After the holiday break, our focus in January is on re-establishing routines and helping children feel comfortable, confident, and secure in their environment. Through consistent schedules, familiar activities, and lots of reassurance, we support each child as they transition back into daycare life.
Our educators place special emphasis on social-emotional development—encouraging children to reconnect with friends, practice communication skills, and build positive relationships.
Winter Learning & Exploration
January brings plenty of opportunities for winter-themed learning. Children explore seasonal concepts through hands-on activities such as:
- Sensory play with winter textures
- Art projects inspired by snow and animals
- Stories and songs about the winter season
- Simple science explorations like ice and temperature
When weather permits, we also enjoy outdoor play, helping children stay active while learning to dress appropriately for winter conditions.
Supporting Independence and Growth
As we begin a new year, our programming continues to support independence, curiosity, and creativity. Whether it’s self-help skills, problem-solving during play, or expressing ideas through art and language, every activity is thoughtfully planned to support each child’s developmental stage.
Thank You, Families
We are so grateful for the continued trust and partnership of our families. Open communication and collaboration are key to creating a nurturing and enriching experience for every child.
We look forward to an amazing year ahead filled with learning, laughter, and memorable moments at Tiny Hoppers Newmarket South!
