Today we learned how to make a snowman. We learned that if we bunch the snow in our hands and roll it on the ground it will collect the snow and get larger. If we make a few of them and stack them on top of each other we create our snowman. We add some rocks to make the buttons and the face.
While we are collecting the snow we are using our gross motor skills by crawling along the ground and our fine motor skills by handling the snow with our hands. We talk about the colour of the snow and how it may change depending how dirty the snow is. We also talk about the texture and temperature of the snow. While we are building the snowman we are learning about STEM while we are balancing the snow and placing them in the perfect position to have the balls of snow stay upright. we are thinking about cemetery while we are decorating our snowman with rocks to create the smile and the buttons.
