Blast Off!

After seeing the wonder of space in the children they created a giant rocket shape on the floor with tape. The children loved walking around, through and along—pretending to be astronauts. Then they used colorful plastic blocks to trace the outline of the rocket. This hands-on tracing helped them practice their fine motor skills, coordination, and awareness.
After that, each child made his or her own mini-rocket craft, and they wrote their name on it, celebrating themselves as little astronauts and strengthening name recognition and writing skills.
We finished by sharing our rockets and talking about how we created them: how the blocks fit together, how our names look on the rocket, and how proud we are of our work.It was a day full of creativity, imagination, play, and learning
