Tykes talked about the beautiful fall season and the delicious fruits and vegetables that are harvested at this time of year.
To extend our learning, the children took part in a variety of fun and educational fall-themed activities. Through hands-on play, they explored textures, colors, and shapes of seasonal produce, while using their imagination to create stories and harvest scenes.
We began our day with a cozy Fall Harvest Sensory Play! The tuff tray was filled with pumpkins, apples, colorful leaves, apple trees, and even some farm animals like pigs, squirrels, and chickens.
The children had so much fun exploring the tray, gathering fruits, playing with the animals, and creating little farm scenes with scarecrows and farm pictures.
At the art table, our children made their own apple trees! Using bubble wrap stampers and red paint, they filled the branches with bright apples, celebrating the beauty of fall while building creativity, fine motor skills, and seasonal learning.
Children also worked on apple tree counting! Each tree had a number, and the children glued the matching number of apples onto the branches. They practiced counting with our Apple Seed Counting activity! Using colorful beads as “apple seeds,” they matched the correct number of seeds to each apple card.
A Harvest of Fun!
