Parallel Play

November 3, 2021

Starting to see the beginning stages of the next major milestone: parallel play to associative play. We start to see this between the ages of 2-4. Children start to widen their play to include others.
Parallel play is when children do the same activity as others around them at the same time, but may not interact with others.
Associative play is when children play side by side with one another, not always coordinating efforts but at times engaging with others. When children start to play with one another, it’s a beautiful sight to see. This special moment was captured in our Tots room and we can’t get enough!
