Operation Friendship Senior Society

November 23, 2018

As Christmas approaches, there are so many things going on in our lives – Christmas shopping, meals to prepare, presents to wrap, cards to write and gatherings with families and friends. For our children, we know Christmas is an exciting and happy occasion as they think about gifts that will be waiting for them under the tree.
However, Christmas is not always a happy time of year for everyone. We are sending our children on a mission of kindness this holiday season and getting them involved to spread a little cheer. We have chosen to make Christmas cards for Operation Friendship Seniors Society.
Operation Friendship Seniors Society is a non-profit society that provides community-based preventative social services to the seniors of Edmonton’s inner city. They provide safe, affordable non-institutional housing options.
To date, Operation Friendship Senior Society manages 350 housing units throughout the city of Edmonton. Our goal is to provide a Christmas card for each and every one! Our Tiny Hoppers will be busy working in our card making workshop to make this happen. Our deadline is December 7th. Each card will contain artwork and a Christmas wish signed by Tiny Hoppers. We will post pictures of their creations soon!
