The Inspiration behind our food!

February 28, 2021

Mango, pineapple, coconut, chick peas, lentils, asparagus…. These are just some of the foods we introduced our kids to when they were just 6 months old. Having twins has its own set of challenges and preparing separate food for our boys was just not an option. We were exhausted just changing diapers and sanitizing bottles, somehow, we all sat together at the dinner table and enjoyed the same food minus the spice level. At the time, we did not realize what impact introducing these foods would have on the boys, perhaps it did not matter at the time – we had to move on, getting stuck on food was not in our checklist of things to get accomplished daily.

Our concept for food at Tiny Hoppers St. Albert South has always been bold and out of the norm. Going against the grain was going to be tough, but we decided to stick to our guns and provide an experience for children and parents like no other. Within 3 months of opening, we met the perfect Chef (Chef Sarah) who we had no doubt would carry on our beliefs and views to unimaginable levels. To this date, we have kept our belief alive and provide an experience that incorporates culture, freshness, flavors, textures, pairing and simplicity in the meals we prepare. Quality child care is incomplete without food and nutrition and that helps us stand out from the crowd.

In hindsight, the choices we made paid off and we can proudly say that our boys enjoy the different fruits and vegetable from around the world that they have been exposed to. The boys are not fussy eaters by any means, however life is never that easy, meals at the table are filled with noise, toys and chaos…. we can never win!
