OWNER CARON:
Welcome to a few new toddler families that will be joining us in August! Each month going forward, we will be welcoming new children until we are completely back to capacity at 84 children.
FRIENDLY REMINDER: Please ensure that you are receiving notifications from our Parent Portal that goes directly to your email, as well checking our Facebook page. As an example, during the last storm this past week, we had communicated through both FB and PP as calling parents is not feasible during a storm, as we need to focus on the children and prepare in case the storm gets out of hand.
Also ensure that you are checking the daily logs that also go directly to your email, as that is a summary of your child’s day and the mechanism for the teachers to communicate with you. With the fact that parents still cannot enter the centre, this is also a way the teachers will let you know if your child is running out of supplies etc.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT:
Beginning each month in our newsletter, we will choose one staff member to focus on & share some insight about them so that you can know your teachers just a little bit better!
This month it is Ms. Sara. She is one of our amazing preschool teachers! It will be 4 months in August 2021 since Ms. Sara has been with us. We are so lucky to have her on our team! Her employees describe her as:
“Confident, kind, dependable, sweet, loving, gentle, friendly, caring, polite, lovely”.
INFANTS:
This month of August, we will continue to have water play during the hot days. Just a reminder to make sure your child has extra clothes or their water clothes in their bag.
With August still being a summer season, we will continue to explore summer time/summer vacation through different art, sensory and gross motor activities. We will also incorporate science and sensory activities where we will be exploring solids versus liquids.

TODDLERS:
Summer should get a speeding ticket. It is almost over…. Can’t believe it.
This month in toddlers we will be learning about community helpers, forest, western culture, and bugs. It is going to be such an exciting month.
We will work on our vocabulary by learning new words based on the theme of the week. We will have some gross motor and lots of outdoor play depending on the weather. We will continue to work on our manners, being independent, and so many more. We will also have lots of great activities such as arts, fine motor and so on. Due to the beautiful weather, we will have lots of water play. Please remember to bring lots of change clothes and some water shoes. We are looking forward to seeing a month full of learning and fun.

And just like that it’s August already!
Can’t believe we are heading towards the end of Summer. We will continue with water play this month so please continue to make sure your child has extra clothes / bathing suit.
