THE OWNERS

The owner’s goal at Tiny Hoppers Riverside South’s is to create a second loving and safe environment for your child just as they experience at home.  Beginning Nov 1/19 Caron will be the centre’s director for the next year while Kayla is on maternity leave & with the help of Miss Nichole, Laura and Taina, there will always be someone on the floor should you need assistance or have questions.

THE DIRECTOR

Beginning each month in our newsletter, we will choose one staff member to focus on & share some insight about them so that you can know your teachers just a little bit better!

This month it is our longest serving teacher MRS. PAULA from the Infant Room 7+ years!

Did you know that she has worked in the kitchen, infant, toddler AND preschool rooms!  Her co-workers describe her as: motherly, caring, a hilarious rapper singer, spunky, loud Portugese affectionalte momma,  a wonderful role model, the baby whisperer,  adaptable, amazing, loyal staff member who is also an amazing baker!  All the children love her as do we!!

INFANT

This month we will be focusing on Language and Literacy!  The infants have been enjoying looking at pictures and books.  We will continue this with other forms of literacy such as Finger Play Songs, felt stories and singing songs!  We will also have a Teddy Bear and pyjama’s tea party for the children to continue language.

TODDLER

November is full of exciting activities for the toddlers. In week 1, there will be lots of teddy bear activities; with an awesome pyjama day! In week 2, we will be doing some fun activities; in week 3 we will be transforming the toddler classes to a Carnival. We`ll be having lots of  activities with our carnival/circus animals. And finally, in week 4, we will be exploring movement and motion; with activities like “moving boats in water”, “tire tracks painting” and “kites”.

PRESCHOOL

We can’t believe there are only two months left in 2019!  The children have settled into our routine nicely.  We have enjoyed practicing our name and letter recognition and will continue to do so.  This month we will be focusing on healthy eating and  healthy bodies.  We have lots of fun   activities planned to teach the children   about healthy foods, healthy teeth and germs.  With the cold weather fast approaching, we will also be practicing independent dressing skills.  We encourage the children to practice pulling on snow  pants, boots and mittens, as well as putting jackets on using the flip method.  We encourage you to spend time practicing these skills at home with your child.  Independent & self help skills are an important part of development that fosters confidence and self assurance in children.
