The owners of Tiny Hoppers Riverside South’s goal is to create a second loving and safe environment for your child just as they experience at home. WELCOME ALL NEW FAMILIES and as some of you are not quite familiar with all of the owners, let us introduce ourselves.

The owners are: Grandma (Caron) Benjamin along with children Ryan, Jason and Nichole Benjamin, and also pictured here are the daughters in law Sonya and Sarah and the growing clan of grandbabies!

Infants:This month we will be beginning our fall activities. We will have a variety of fall art, sensory and science activities. We observed that the infants enjoy exploring with their senses (touch and sound). We will have different sensory bottles and sensory bins for the children to explore!

Toddlers:Week 1: Pirate theme – We will be hunting for treasure (Sensory), walking the plank (Gross Motor), pretending to be pirates (Dramatic Play), and many more activities.
Week 2: Insects theme – We will be making coffee filter butterflies (Art), learning about bugs (Cognitive), saving sinking bugs (Sensory Bin), and many more activities.
Week 3: Bear theme – We will be making paper plate bears (Art), doing soapy experiments (Science), feeding the bear (Fine Motor), and many more activities.
Week 4: Shapes and colours theme – We will be sorting crayons (Cognitive), exploring colourful sensory bins (Sensory), bingo dabbing shapes (Art), and many more activities.

Preschoolers:Welcome back everyone from a great and wonderful summer. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new families. We are so excited for you to be part of OUR Hopper family and we are very excited to be a part of YOUR family as well.
As we all know, children love to play & learn. We will be working on both letter and name recognition this month, with many language & literacy activities such as tracing & matching letters.
Name recognition makes a child feel important and will help build lasting friendships. This will also build concepts of print and reading. By doing sign in centers, attendance cards, games and matching activities daily, this will eventually show that the children are ready for writing and reading.
The children’s names and knowledge of the alphabet are used for daily routine at home as well as in the classroom. This knowledge will give the children the opportunity of ownership of their belongings.
We as teachers will be working hard to teach and guide the children’s natural curiosity. We look forward to working with you and your children to make this exciting year a successful and rewarding one.
