Owners & Director- MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR FRI AUGUST 9
from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm for our annual Fundraising BBQ in our yard at Tiny Hoppers Riverside South.  There will be fantastic live music, raffle, food for sale and loads of fun for the kids and parents! Our children will also be baking to raise funds for Shelter Movers…so bring your sweet tooth!  This is also an opportunity to get to know our staff and the owners – The Benjamin Family.

RAFFLE TICKETS ARE READY FOR SALE – We are selling raffle tickets to help raise funds for SHELTER MOVERS OF OTTAWA which provides re-location and moving services at NO cost to families escaping domestic violence.

  • 3 tickets for $5.00 or 6 tickets for $8.00

PRIZES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED: • 2 Senator tickets worth $400 • gift certificate for 4 for Golf O Max worth $160 • gift certificate for a membership to Club Executive Golf worth $369 • gift certificate for 4 for Eagle Creek golf course in Dunrobin worth $300 • Paw Patrol tickets LIVE @ Canadian Tire Centre worth $125 and many other prizes!

Infants-For the month of August, we will have a variety of Science activities.  We will explore Nature, Insects and Gardening.

  • Where do insects live?
  • Different sizes of insects?
  • Bean plant?
  • What do plants need?

With August being the last month of summer, please bring extra clothes as we will have a variety of water activities.

Toddlers 1&2-Week 1: The children will be matching cowboy hats (Cognitive), discovering rocks for Science and Sensory and they will play pin the tail on the donkey to practice their Fine Motor Skills.

Week 2: We will be pom pom sorting (Cognitive); practicing cutting using safe scissors (Art/Fine Motor) and doing some yoga on the carpet to work on our Gross Motor.

Week 3: We will be reading the “opposites” book (Social Studies/Self Help), the children will learn about floating vs sinking objects (Science/Sensory) and learning about soft and hard objects for Sensory play.

Week 4: They will be popping bubbles for Sensory, playing an apple felt activity to work on their Cognitive skills and playing with water (Outdoor Play).  Please bring extra clothes for your children as they will get wet!

Preschool 1&2-A new month is upon us and our summer theme programming is in full swing!  The teachers are working hard to keep play time fun and engaging, especially on these hot, hot days inside.  We will continue with our “theme weeks” this month. The children & teachers are looking forward to:

Aug 5th week: Beach week

Aug 12th week: Rainbow week

Aug 19th week: Teddy bear picnic & P.J. day

Aug 26th week: Dinosaur week

Please make sure to view Parent Portal and Facebook daily for reminders and updates on upcoming event.  i.e. park days and to get further information on what the children need to bring for the theme weeks in August.
